Artists Help Japan: Would you like to too?

Audrey Kawasaki just posted about an “. Artists Help Japan .” on ebay and by the gods: SO MANY LOVELY and fabulous artists have submitted! Kelly Vivanco, Lorena Alvarez & obviously Audrey Kawasaki just to name my favourites :D

LOOK AT THE AUDREY KAWASAKI PIECE NOM NOM NOM! Hilariously (and expectedly) hers is already up over $100USD. NO ONE IS SHOCKED!

I have a whole mess of them on watch, we’ve already donated to the Japan appeal and I usually prefer to actually donate directly to a charity instead of purchasing something to help, BUT! OMG! I am so hoping to be able to afford one of them, or if not then I’ll be very pleased to help bump the prices up for Japan! GO GO!

Rilakkuma, You’re ALIIIIIVE..!

The music might be SUPER annoying, but I love this stop motion amigurumi Rilakkuma building himself – though I think personally I might cry if I was making this and slowly unraveling the bits only to make them again xD Good thing he’s small!

The cat toy watching all of this with a rather bemused expression on his face is perhaps, however, my favourite. His back legs for sitting construction looks interesting, CLEARLY I will be trying this soon.

Though with our luck he’d pee in the top…

Jenji linked this to me, fantasizing about being able to have shelving solutions in her room. I look at it and go OMG JAVA HEAVENS! Look out, jaguars from above..! *gasp* Clearly another addition to our future ‘mythical’ home of fantasy and fiction.

Just a little peek into what I’ve been doing…

Knitting Nancy Dives In Exhibition, 2011 Adelaide FringeAmongst the craziness of social & family commitments, so many weddings, being a constant bridesmaid (and loving it), being an upcoming bride, my absurd state of health etc etc something has been slowly taking over my life for the past year or so. As a consequence, BIG big changes to my blog are scheduled soon, and my time is happily being consumed by yarn.

You heard me, yarn.

Though I’ve been honing my knitting, crochet has become an obsessive great love and though I’ve known how to do it since my Mum taught me as a small child, and I’ve picked it up now and again throughout my life, this last year has been slowly filling more and more with yarn, so now our lounge room is also filling more and more with yarn. Consequently some really awesome opportunities have been thrown my way and I’ve jumped into the path of others.

One aforementioned opportunity of awesome (that I roped in a mess of my locally talented fabulous friends into)? The Knitting Nancy Dives In Knitting and Crochet Arts Exhibition for the 2011 Adelaide Fringe

Yet another room with a moose..!

Lookit! I founds me an actually LOCAL cute print artist who is an artist that makes cute prints LOCALLY! My environmentally aware carbon footprint worried friends would be so proud. ^_^

Messagemark sellson Etsy, and has some super cute stuff, but of course they won me over with a blue moose. So much cooler than a blue moon, and wont ever leave you standing alone. Cause moose stand on the ground, towering over you and your personal space. Moons are in space.

Sometimes, song lyrics are dumb.

Kitschy Monty Pythonian Cake Topper Love!

What… is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow? What do you mean? An African or European swallow?

Ah, OBB, sometimes you infuriate me with posts about weddings that are questionably ‘off beat’ but often you bring the WIN to my inbox!

Honestly, how freaken cute are these custom-made African and European Swallows, completely ecstatic about their coconut payload?

A lot of theaircastle‘s cake toppers are just a little TOO kitsch for my liking, and then some tread that awesome AWESOME line of just the right amount. Like the Mini Owls in Love. Magnifique!

PS: Mocha Monkey? He WILL make your day :D

10 VIntage Dresses I’m sure EVERYONE wishes they owned…

Could you BE more fabulous?!

Whilst spending the morning doing inspiration and cross referencing research for various and nefarious work purposes, I stumbled upon this list of
gorgeous covet-worthy vintage dresses at Adorevintage.com.

And then I saw this fish print dress.

Oh. MAN. Why so awesome, dress? How dare you not exist in my wardrobe!

Just goes to show that novelty doesn’t always have to be ~novelty~.
