Though with our luck he’d pee in the top…

Jenji linked this to me, fantasizing about being able to have shelving solutions in her room. I look at it and go OMG JAVA HEAVENS! Look out, jaguars from above..! *gasp* Clearly another addition to our future ‘mythical’ home of fantasy and fiction.

Just a little peek into what I’ve been doing…

Knitting Nancy Dives In Exhibition, 2011 Adelaide FringeAmongst the craziness of social & family commitments, so many weddings, being a constant bridesmaid (and loving it), being an upcoming bride, my absurd state of health etc etc something has been slowly taking over my life for the past year or so. As a consequence, BIG big changes to my blog are scheduled soon, and my time is happily being consumed by yarn.

You heard me, yarn.

Though I’ve been honing my knitting, crochet has become an obsessive great love and though I’ve known how to do it since my Mum taught me as a small child, and I’ve picked it up now and again throughout my life, this last year has been slowly filling more and more with yarn, so now our lounge room is also filling more and more with yarn. Consequently some really awesome opportunities have been thrown my way and I’ve jumped into the path of others.

One aforementioned opportunity of awesome (that I roped in a mess of my locally talented fabulous friends into)? The Knitting Nancy Dives In Knitting and Crochet Arts Exhibition for the 2011 Adelaide Fringe

10 VIntage Dresses I’m sure EVERYONE wishes they owned…

Could you BE more fabulous?!

Whilst spending the morning doing inspiration and cross referencing research for various and nefarious work purposes, I stumbled upon this list of
gorgeous covet-worthy vintage dresses at Adorevintage.com.

And then I saw this fish print dress.

Oh. MAN. Why so awesome, dress? How dare you not exist in my wardrobe!

Just goes to show that novelty doesn’t always have to be ~novelty~.

The littlest bashful starfish…

The littlest Bashful Starfish blushes

There’s a LOT of crochet star patterns out there, and several great free ones at that. Inspired by friends (*hugs to Amy & Q*), Christmas and the Knitting Nancy Dives In exhibition that I’m participating in in next year’s fringe, this is my take on the the crochet star adapted to be one of the cutest of the little sea creatures…

He keeps bobbling and bobbling and bobbling…

Cherry Blossom opens on Melbourne St

Woo! A new sushi place opened a block from our house today, and for the first two weeks (until Christmas) they’re doing half price ALL their rolls. ARMAGAD!

Mandy went earlier and tried them out, as we’d forgotten that they were opening, encouraged us to go and you don’t have to tell US twice to eat sushi. xD

So far all the rolls we bought are delicious, and they gave us this free solar powered sushi bobble head man (seriously he bobbles his head when exposed to the sun – TOO CUTE! And kind of possessed >_>;; xD) with our order. EEE! And as a bonus? FREE ENGRISH:

Sweet Sweet Engrish

Honestly, our theory is they’re doing this on purpose now. Screw proper english, people demand the engrish-isms!

Doily Wedding Dress of Infinite Adorability

Whilst finding myself, once again, trapped on Craftzine in an rabid devouring of crochet patterns, I stumbled upon shots of this SUPER adorable hand made doily dress from a California mountain elopement, featured on 100 Layer Cake.

The bride apparently ripped apart a vintage dress to use as a base for the under-dress pattern, then crocheted all the doilies for the dress in a three week block (is she the fastest crochet-er of all time?!), and they finished the dress the morning-of and sewed her into it! O_O;; Her SUPER cute shoes were dyed to the colour she wanted and the embellishments? Vintage earrings used as shoe clips. ADORABLE!

And my Mum wouldn’t let me use any doilies I’ve inherited for clothing! So digging out all the ones I’ve bought from Op Shops and clothinating them like I planned.

Tea that judges your accomplishments…

Eeeeheheee! I so wish this Pride & prejudice Mug could go on our engagement registry, but its a rather SINGULAR gift (vs a coupular gift? xD xD). But ah! So cute, surely you’d have to be constantly reading whilst ‘taking a turn about the room’ when drinking from this? xD

PS: There’s a Wodehouse one available from them too, booyah.

Artistic Teal Deer, anyone? :D

d.i.y. project: recycled crayon shapes « HAUTE NATURE. Oh man do I ever want to do this a whole mess. Especially for a certain aspect of a certain major life event that may or may not be coming up for myself and Greg next year…

*waggles eyebrows meaningfully in Jenji’s direction*

xD

SO CUTE! And so fun :D
