Sweaters to Knit that He WONT Wear, I’m sure you mean…

Just checking mail this morning, and though my eye was instantly drawn to this lovely One Skein project book – I’m ALWAYS trying to make my projects be super fast so you can get that almost instant feeling of accomplishment xD – my eye was really HIJACKED by: HURT – Men In Knits: Sweaters to Knit that He WILL Wear – Interweave.

Hurt is right. What the hell he WILL wear? Because you’ve brainwashed him? Why would you even WANT him to wear a jumper eleventy billion sizes to large for him. O_O;; Greg could probably put that on and then I’d be unable to locate him for weeks.

DO WANT MY MAN TO LOOK SUPER HOT KTHX! RATHER NOT LOSE HIM UNDER A PILE OF YARN O_O;;;

These boots are constructed to be suitable for various perambulations…

How hot are these Ros Hommerson Black Women’s Spin Wide Calf Boots?! I know I know, they’ve got a heel so I probably can’t wear them with my pita of a back, BUT STIL!L They’re not TOO high and they’d look totally hot next year for Ali & Damien (aka Alien! :D <333)’s wedding under our awesomely voluminous dresses. I could make matching boned fabric spats to go on them too! OMG THE PRETTIES! *joyface*

I do totally need more boot variety in my wardrobe, the awesome pair that Deasilvae gave me for Christmas are holding their own against a shoe-torturing Nett, but I’d like to not torture them so much and be able to mix it up a bit.

Plus, Greg LOVES him some boot on the ladies ;) :D

SO MUCH SKIRT! <3

APPARENTLY, Greg is too much of a sweet as hell modern guy to buy me chauvinistic overtone gifts and so asked me to post yet another wishlist of goods. OMG SO HARD! *laughs* WHAT DO I WANT THAT’S NOT YARN, FABRIC OR KITCHENGOODS?! xD

The answer? Well OBVIOUSLY its clothes *laughs* I am so lacking in new/wearable dresses and tights that haven’t been rendered crotchless from being worn more than once in their lives >_<;; Then I remembered I had the Vivien of Holloway website open since January, so I could randomly click back to those tabs and fawn over the mountains of skirt and deliciously constructed boned bodices…

Not just in red, but turquoise too! And of course I’m dying to have a trucktonne of hugely huge petticoats (RED! WHITE! PIIIINK!!) to go with them and to go under other clothes I already have/plan to make. MmMMmmmmm..! Petticoats aren’t hard to make but they’re SO TIME CONSUMING! *laughs*

Unfortunately these aren’t exactly what Greg was asking for, I do believe he wanted me to list things that you could buy locally in a shop. DARN IT! *laughs more* But still, nothing can stop me from fawning over these a little longer. ^_^

So pretties, time to petses!

Apple Butter on Marianne Dashwood from Shop Yarn Love

I was bullied by my mans last night into posting a birthday wishlist. As I have no real idea on what I actually WANT O_O;; I decided to instead use it as an excuse to go check out some massive pretties that I’ve been avoiding doing because WHO HAS MONEY FOR THAT?!? xD So this way its not REALLY torture, its research. *nods*

What follows is Part One of my ~research~ xD YARN LOVE!! A whole mess of yarns from stores that I’ve wanted to try out for AGES because the photos make me want to touch them so completely..!

But what if you soiled them, like the three little kittens?

Jessie Steele Designer Aprons

While on the hunt for new replacement measuring spoons because I BROKEDEDNESS BEC’S TABLESPOON MEASURE, AUUGH! – I stumbled upon these DELECTABLE Jessie Steele Designer Aprons at the The Cupcake Courier. HOW SWEET ARE THEY?!

Only problem is, I’m MORE than sure I’d be terrified of getting them dirty when actually cooking/baking. Which isn’t exactly what one wants out of an apron. But still: DO WANT! ♥

Earthgirl Fabrics… GAH, FOUND YOU!

Dammit!

A selection of fabrics available at Earthgirl Fabrics

Oh good. Because I needed to find more local crack dealers. *headdesk*

Last night I stumbled upon Australian fabric store, Earthgirl Fabrics. THEY. SHIP. FOR. FREE. WITHIN. OZ. Great. Awesome. Just when you think you have some money… *laughs*

There’s some really great prints and some favourite fabric print designers among their ranges; its a dangerous mine field. And they also stock some must-have patterns – especially if you’re into gift making:

Melly & Me: Little Miss Mouse
Sew Liberated: Emeline Apron
Sew Liberated: Lola & Lolita Apron

No one said the gifts can’t be for yourself ;) In short: GIRD YOUR LOINS PURSES!

AUGH THE PRETTIES!! Nordstrom Goldtone Bib Necklace

 Nordstrom Goldtone Bib Necklace

FEEL THE PRETTIES INFUSING YOUR PERSON AS YOU LOOK UPON THIS NECKLACE! Whilst scouring the web for near-impossible-to-find box files, I somehow managed to get trapped perusing polyvore‘s bib necklace category and stumbled upon this piece of gorgeousness.

DO WISH I could afford it to wear to Bec’s wedding, but alas with shipping etc it’d end up being $100. WOE!

PS: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! xD

Funky Fabrix – Patterns for drooling upon

AUGH FUNKY FABRIX! Why you gotta tease me so, with your pages upon pages of fabulous patternry? And why do you have to be IN AUSTRALIA so that your shipping is not ludicrous and your prices need not be converted. At least when I hit up Reprodepot, Fabric Tales or Super Buzzy they have the decency to not spell their name in an obnoxious fashion, and put enough detractors in that I can more easily talk myself out of purchases.

Well, slightly more easily. Just. In a sit-on-your-hands kind of fashion…

BUT NO, Funky Fabrix have the audacity to be for all intents and purposes: LOCAL. The cheek! xD

1. Kokka – Dala Horses Red 2. Russian Nesting Dolls & Daisies Brown 3. Large Whimsy Doozie Brown 4. Pet Deer Brown 5. Moorish Blooms Aqua 6. Garden Party – Chocolate Damask

I can’t work out if the Moorish Blooms are a historical iconography nod, or if they’re just called that because YOU WANT MOOOOORE!

Pretties and practicals, possibly under pressure

Under a minimal quantity of arm twisting, largely by my lovely not-quite-but-totally-are-in-laws, I capitulated to putting together a wishlist for Christmas this year. Though my Vintage Nettles blog is largely a wish-list of sorts, this time around (unlike last time I tried to make a wishlist for a gifting event) I actually can pinpoint items I’d really adore!

Though I’ve realised that I’m in MASSIVE UBER OVERCLOCKED nesting mode, as 90% of the items I originally came up with are practical (but PRETTY!) items that I feel we need for our home, and it was actually a struggle to put ‘frippery’ on the list even though there’s surely a lot of items I’d love to have. Priority shift, I must be getting old. Or stealth clucky. Possibly both. ;)

From the little le bouque list above:
1. & 2. Softies & More Softies 3. Pictorial Webster’s: A Visual Dictionary of Curiosities 4. Wallpaper Projects
