HOLY! I completely forgot about this dress…

I recall seeing this dress a year or so ago and screaming that I NEEDED it. And then I promptly forgot ALL about it.  Then perusing a ‘show us your dream dress’ thread at offbeatbride.com, I stumbled across it again. O_O;;

I’d commented to Q last night that I wasn’t such a peacock fan. But CLEARLY I WAS WRONG, because DO WANT THIS DRESS! But in different colours… MUHAHAHA! Teal/turqoise and red, anyone? :D DELICIOUS!

Really do need to make that paper-tape dress form I’ve been talking about making with a bunch of my friends for about, what, three years? Guys? GAWDS!

Funky Fabrix – Patterns for drooling upon

AUGH FUNKY FABRIX! Why you gotta tease me so, with your pages upon pages of fabulous patternry? And why do you have to be IN AUSTRALIA so that your shipping is not ludicrous and your prices need not be converted. At least when I hit up Reprodepot, Fabric Tales or Super Buzzy they have the decency to not spell their name in an obnoxious fashion, and put enough detractors in that I can more easily talk myself out of purchases.

Well, slightly more easily. Just. In a sit-on-your-hands kind of fashion…

BUT NO, Funky Fabrix have the audacity to be for all intents and purposes: LOCAL. The cheek! xD

1. Kokka – Dala Horses Red 2. Russian Nesting Dolls & Daisies Brown 3. Large Whimsy Doozie Brown 4. Pet Deer Brown 5. Moorish Blooms Aqua 6. Garden Party – Chocolate Damask

I can’t work out if the Moorish Blooms are a historical iconography nod, or if they’re just called that because YOU WANT MOOOOORE!

Adorable Egg Pincushion tutorial by Christina Lane, The Sometimes Crafter

Adorable Egg Pincushion tutorial by Christina Lane, The Sometimes Crafter

So its not exactlythe most MINDBLOWING tutorial on the planet, its a few simple steps to create a really sweetly end result for something that is crazy useful when sewing – and would make super cute gifts. WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE?! The colours and patterns and mixes are great, useful for other colour combos and come on?! As if this doesn’t fill you with nostalgia for mornings eating dippy eggs and soldiers?

I feel I may go eat some now…

Cathedral Squares: A challenge for another time

Cathedral Squares: A Tutorial from Hyena In Petticoats

Cathedral Squares: A Tutorial from Hyena In Petticoats

I’ve had a tab open to this tutorial for QUITE some time. I’m itching to try it out with all sorts of fabrics and patterns but alas, health still robs me of the chance. But the scope for experimentation and FUN in this project keeps me from closing the tab and relegating it to the too-hard-due-to-health basket. I want to create gorgeous cathedral squares and then embroider and applique other designs on top. Stitch all over that mother in various illustration styles. I SHALL DO THIS! I SHALL!! :D :D :D
