OMG ENGAGED!

I realised that I hadn’t actually made any announcements online about our news..! O_O;; xD

On the fifteenth of June, after I’d had a conversation with Bec about how we’d been planning on buying me a ‘test’ engagement ring to see if I would even WEAR one – she excitedly ran off and looked through her fashion ring collection and pulled out two rings she thought would fit me for me to borrow and test out.

Later that night while we were hiding from the cold in bed, I showed Greg, and he put them both on my finger. But! He decided that that wasn’t right, demanded I take them both off and after a whole mess of awesome face mashing: He asked me to marry him.

We’d previously discussed that we wouldn’t do “The Question” and when we found “The Ring” we’d just be engaged. But I had no idea that I really DID want to be asked so much until he actually asked me.

Needless to say, I totally said yes, have been pretty DAMN excited about it every since, and I still get all lip and jaw wibbly and giddy just thinking about it. YAY ENGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGED!!!!!!! :D

I wasn’t allowed to get too attached to this huge blue resin flower with its little diamante heart. But its too late, I love it.

What have I done?

Bridal Shower Brooch Bonanza

As if The Daring Baker’s Challenge isn’t kicking my arse literally enough, I somehow managed to click “Join this group” on the “10 Shawls in 2010” crochet group on Ravelry.

In a year where I’m attempting to hopefully double my freelance work load, and I’m in more than one wedding. As the Maid of Honour in one of them, and helping plan for a wedding in 2011 where I’m also the Maid of Honour. And other weddings I’ll be in that year besides.

WHAT AM I DOING?! AM I A CRAZY PERSON?!

I was just certified as disabled by Centrelink, and I’m like OH YEAH I’LL TOTALLY OVER ACCOMPLISH, I CAN DO THAT! Um, you’re a disabled person, Nett. How does my brain work? Can anyone explain that to me? Limitations, what ARE they? xD

AUGH THE PRETTIES!! Nordstrom Goldtone Bib Necklace

 Nordstrom Goldtone Bib Necklace

FEEL THE PRETTIES INFUSING YOUR PERSON AS YOU LOOK UPON THIS NECKLACE! Whilst scouring the web for near-impossible-to-find box files, I somehow managed to get trapped perusing polyvore‘s bib necklace category and stumbled upon this piece of gorgeousness.

DO WISH I could afford it to wear to Bec’s wedding, but alas with shipping etc it’d end up being $100. WOE!

PS: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! xD

Pretties and practicals, possibly under pressure

Under a minimal quantity of arm twisting, largely by my lovely not-quite-but-totally-are-in-laws, I capitulated to putting together a wishlist for Christmas this year. Though my Vintage Nettles blog is largely a wish-list of sorts, this time around (unlike last time I tried to make a wishlist for a gifting event) I actually can pinpoint items I’d really adore!

Though I’ve realised that I’m in MASSIVE UBER OVERCLOCKED nesting mode, as 90% of the items I originally came up with are practical (but PRETTY!) items that I feel we need for our home, and it was actually a struggle to put ‘frippery’ on the list even though there’s surely a lot of items I’d love to have. Priority shift, I must be getting old. Or stealth clucky. Possibly both. ;)

From the little le bouque list above:

Make Believe

Make Believe floral Accessories

Make Believe is a simply stunning short-run site that I just stumbled upon whilst keeping an eye out for bridesmaids accessories while I write my Christmas Wishlist.

Very small amount of stock atm (their MEN section has items from the womens section in them that I’m not ENTIRELY sure pull off unisex) but what they have there are CERTAINLY statement pieces of emblematic gorgeous.

DO WANT! *catches glimpses of pie-shaped clouds*
